What exactly happened to responsible lending in this country?

You know, the theory that those in charge were responsible to protect the welfare of those who dreamed of owning homes they couldn’t afford.
As opposed to exploiting those same dreams, of course.
2.8 million foreclosures in 2009.

Over 3 million more expected in 2010.
