What should be done to combat predatory lending?
I got a credit card in the mail and I just had to phone a number to activate it. Then I spent 00 dollars and didn’t pay the credit company. Now I have a bad credit rating. What can I do to stop this predatory behaviour? I feel like I was used by the system so that some high-salaried manager could get his 0,000 bonus by filling a new customer quota. Does the little guy have any rights in this situation? Where is Marcia Coakley when I need her?
When getting a consolidation loan, what happens to your credit cards they are consolidating from?
Do they stpo the accounts? Put a halt on them, or do they keep them open? I dont mind putting a halt, but to close the accounts after all is paid on the consolidation loan, i would like to know i have an open line of credit with my card company. Any input will be gladly appreciated! Thanks!
Why do lending institutions charges a person who is already in financial trouble more to help them get out?
A person who was delinquent on payment goes to get a credit card or a loan is charged a higher rate based on their history.
What is the government doing to make sure this credit crisses/predatory lending dosen’t happen again?
I hope this just isn't a short term fix. I was talking with my mom and she said when she was growing up getting a credit card was really hard but lately they just give them to who ever wants them.
What questions do I need to ask to get the best rates and terms on a Federal Student Loan consolidation?
Interest rates (Sallie Mae) will most likely be going up on July 1. I have received many, many offers in the mail to consolidate my school loans (these are similar to credit card offers). I do want to lock in at a fixed lower rate before rates increase. Currently, rates vary from 2.75% to 4.75%. What do I need to know to not get screwed? Are some companies more reputable than others? How would I find out? Are there hidden fees to be worried about? I graduate this June.

Debt Consolidation Vs Debt Negotiation
Debt consolidations against debt negotiation are two alternatives that are accessible to you if you require debt support. As soon as your monthly bills turn out to be surplus for you to manage, it creates some sense to utilize debt combination or cooperation for solving liability as well as credit troubles.
Loan Consolidation?
Hello,
I am seriously considering applying for a bill consolidation. I have a credit card with an extremely high interest rate 31% and need to shift the balance to an account with a lower interest rate. My credit rating is so-so…and I have only been approved for other accounts with half (if that) of what I owe. I don't want to hurt my credit score any further by applying for more and more accounts. I would like to know if you may have any idea about what type of collateral a bank would accept on a loan totaling ,000. I am leasing my car & have no property in my name.
