Hve you tried system restore?
START>HELP AND SUPPURT>UNDO CHANGES TO YOUR COMPUTER WITH SYSTEM RESTORE,(second one up next to the green arrows).. pick a date before your friend got his mitts on it and restore to that date,
i would give that a go first before anything else…
reinstall your os vista or xp
yeh, get a computer tech to do a lengthy process to fix it all up.
Good Luck
Dude we need more info… Like what make and model so we can give you better info
Try this:
Click start/ click help and support / go to the Pick a Task Area / click Undo Changes to your computer with System Restore / pick a restore date prior to the date that you loaned your computer to your friend..
I hope it works for you
depends if you have the restore cd… if not you can order it from the computer manufacturer ,,, usually hp and dell have them for you to order online all you need is your computer model and it cost about 20 dollars ,,, if your Computer came with a cd the all you have to do is insert it restart the computer and follow the onscreen instructions,,,
You can reset your PC to factory settings, but you may not have to…
if you have a system restore point set you can go back to a point in the past when your computer wasn’t in such a mess and it could be aasier than having to start from scratch as programs and files which you have built up should still be there.
Alternately, if you cannot do this you can either reboot from the boot CD which came with your PC which will format the hard drive, resetting it to factory settings, or you may have a ‘recovery program’ built in on the PC which does this for you without a boot CD.
Good luck.
You can go into system restore and restore it to an earlier date, before your fiendish friend f*** it up
good luck
